Wedding Entertainment at the Royal Wedding

15th Apr 2011

With the Royal Wedding less than 2 weeks away, William and Kate must be busy preparing for their big day. St James’s Palace has said that Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen the musicians and hymns for their wedding ceremony but details of what will be performed remain a closely guarded secret and surprise. We do know, however, that Westminster Abbey’s choir and the Chapel Royal Choir will perform singing duties and the London Chamber Orchestra and the RAF Fanfare Team will also take part.
In a statement, St James's Palace said: "Both Prince William and Miss Middleton have taken a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their service, which will include a number of well-known hymns and choral works as well as some specially commissioned pieces."
The Queen's composer, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, has been commissioned to write music for the wedding and said it would have a "Scottish feel". According to him “Scotland is very much a part of their love story...it is where it began and blossomed, after all”. It is clear that music is very important to William and Kate and they want to ensure it is unique and meaningful on their special day.
Here at Opera Bespoke, the coming months are filled with wedding celebrations and we have been working closely with couples to select everything from opera soloists for wedding ceremonies to surprise singing waiters for receptions, wedding breakfasts and after dinner entertainment.
What’s the most passionate, thrilling, exciting & amusing entertainment you can have at your wedding? Live opera! It’s that special something that will make your wedding day truly unique and delightfully memorable and will wow you and your guests. And this is where we come in.
For wedding ceremonies, our most popular choice is professional opera singers whose voices transform the service into a truly magical occasion. Nothing can compare to the sound of a human voice soaring skyward as you glide down the aisle or sign the register. The Royal Family have previously chosen to have opera singers perform at their wedding ceremony. The wonderful soprano, Kiri Te Kanawa was seen and heard around the world in 1981 by an estimated 600 million people  when she sang "Let the Bright Seraphim" by Handel at the wedding of Charles and Diana.
Opera singing is not just limited to wedding ceremonies and it makes great entertainment for the reception and wedding breakfast afterwards! Our Singing Waiters and hidden guests acts provide world class wedding entertainment that will transform your wedding breakfast or reception into an unforgettable experience. It is not every day that you have the opportunity to listen to the country’s top opera singers, singing close up, especially for you. But the best thing is it’s a surprise. Solos, duets and trios performed by world class opera singers interacting in a fantastically humorous way, make this a wedding day never to be forgotten!
