Euro Singing Waiters

1st Nov 2011

We love performing at weddings – but the wedding our singing waiters performed at last week had a truly European feel! The wedding guests were made up of English, Irish and Italian guests and our singing waiters were asked to use their language skills to create a show that both English and Italian speakers could understand and enjoy.
The wedding breakfast took place at the New Mill restaurant in Eversley. With its tranquil and idyllic riverside setting, The New Mill feels like an escape to the countryside. Its location on the banks of the River Blackwater along with its heritage and character make this a must for weddings and romantic get aways. The food is a feast for the eyes and mouth and thanks to its head chef, Colin Robson-Wright, the venue has earnt itself 2 AA rosettes for exceptional food quality.
Our singing waiters were the perfect complement to the charm and warmth of this venue. Organised as a surprise for her Italian groom-to-be, family and guests, the bride was beaming from ear to ear as our professional opera singers (who had been masquerading as waiters and waitresses during the wedding breakfast) introduced themselves in both English and Italian and then burst into song and provided an exhilarating evening of operatic entertainment. You can imagine the excitement on everyone’s faces as our waiters sang their hearts out. The performance was testament that music is a language that everyone understands regardless of where they come from.
Our tenor knew he had to impress the Italian guests in particular with his rendition of “Nessun Dorma”  - made famous by the Italian legend of opera singing,  Pavarotti. And of course he did not fail to impress everyone with his thrilling high notes and brought the room to a standing ovation and cheers of “bravo”! Popular arias and duets delighted guests and the performance ended with lots of congratulations and vigorous applause!
The bride wrote to us to say: “Just a quick note to thank you and your team for FANTASTIC entertainment at our wedding on Saturday.  The singers were fabulous, and they did a great job of engaging the Italian/Irish groups. Our guests are still raving about them. It was a brilliant end to the day”.
We can’t wait to see the photos and wish the bride and groom all the very best in their future lives together! AUGURI!
