The Singing Waiters Wow Wedding Guests at Northcote House, Ascot

21st May 2012

The singing waiters love a May wedding. This year the weather has let us down, but who needs sun when your wedding is held in a glorious Grade II listed Neo-Georgian mansion nestled among woodlands with wonderful views across Berkshire. The magnificent Northcote House, near Ascot, was the venue for what was to be an incredible wedding with a young fun filled wedding party who were in for a delightful surprise.
Earlier this month we were delighted to be asked to provide surprise entertainment at the wedding reception with added wow factor. Wow factor is exactly what we specialise in. The singing waiters show performed by world class opera singers who have performed on the world’s greatest opera stages was just the answer.
Disguised as the French headwaiter and the young attractive banqueting manager, the singing waiters blended in perfectly with Northcote’s high class waiting staff. Under cover they welcomed guests to Northcote House, poured champagne and served food in a manner you would only expect from waiting staff of the highest calibre.
As dessert was served, the banqueting manager on behalf of the bride and groom made a special announcement congratulating two of the guests on their birthdays which fell on the same day as this magnificent wedding. After the applause the banqueting manager also took the opportunity to say farewell to the French headwaiter who had led his team so professionally in serving the sumptuous wedding breakfast. He had been part of the Northcote House team for over 15 years and the wedding guests were keen to show their appreciation. The shy headwaiter thanked the guests for their kind applause but had one last wish before his departure – “Maestro please!” he ordered and as the music played he broke into an incredible performance of Nessun Dorma from the final act of Puccini's opera Turandot. The wedding guests were taken by total surprise and rose to their feet for a standing ovation.
Then from nowhere, the banqueting manager appeared as Carmen as she wowed the guests with the Habanera handing out roses to the overly excited men. A combination of wonderful arias and duets performed by the singing waiters followed. Waving napkins filled the room and glasses were swung from side to side to the Libiamo. As the show came to a close there was rapturous applause and screams of encore could be heard deep in the Berkshire countryside!
The delighted bride and groom kindly wrote to us to say:
“The singing waiters produced an awesome performance on Sunday at our wedding!!! We were blown away by their performances! Everyone thought it was fantastic and were (obviously) very surprised by it all! I can't believe how quickly everyone joined in and went along with the sing off!! Brilliant! I would recommend you to anyone and would definitely use your company again! Again huge thanks from both James and I!!!”
