Singing Waiters Corporate Entertainment

Our singing waiters have brought many a corporate event to life, leaving guests with lasting memories and a truly unique experience. It is not every day that you have the opportunity to listen to the country’s top opera singers singing live, close up, especially for you.

We were invited by the Government Investment Corporation of Singapore to provide entertainment for their 30 year anniversary.  The GIC wanted entertainment that was sophisticated, unique, entertaining and above all memorable on this very special occasion.

At Opera Bespoke, we love creating unique shows and we came up with the idea of writing a special dedication piece for the GIC’s 30 year anniversary to be performed as the highlight of the Singing Waiters show.  We composed a humorous yet sophisticated piece with a witty and catchy chorus so that guests could join in.   We did our research on the GIC and Singapore and learnt so much in the process!  Finally, we put all the information and anecdotes together and created the GIC 30 year anniversary song which covered everything from stocks and shares to being fined for not flushing the loo in Singapore!

The venue was the headquarters for the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, London.  The event was being held in the Nash Room, which is the grandest function room in the building.  The grandeur and opulence provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of operatic entertainment, which our surprise singing waiters had in store!

The evening’s entertainment kicked off with the drinks reception, followed by a 3 course dinner during which Gyles Brandreth (well-known broadcasting celebrity) gave a highly entertaining speech. The Daily Express says of him “If ever I hear a better speaker, I'll be surprised” so we knew we had to impress guests with our performance!  Following our surprise and comical introduction, the GIC’s guests were mesmerised by outstanding performances from our world class singing waiters who brought everyone to their feet in a standing ovation after their renditions of “Nessun Dorma” and the “Brindisi” from “La Traviata”.  Our special dedication piece was indeed he highlight of the evening and a great success with guests roaring with laughter at the witty lyrics and joining in enthusiastically to the chorus.

The GIC kindly wrote to us to say:

“We are still in the midst of recovering from the fabulous party on Saturday. The Singing Waiters were a class act. They literally brought the house down with the "Yum Seng to GIC" song, which was an integral part of a very successful evening.  On behalf of all my colleagues, many thanks to you and the Singing Waiters for the splendid arrangements and for making this a night to remember for each and every one of us at the GIC”.
